did you know that one third of this country
has had a relative in jail or prison?
world leader in incarceration
There are currently more prisoners per capita detained in the United States in comparison to other countries. The prison population in 1972 was 200,000, two million less than now! Russia, which is constantly being put down by American leaders as a corrupt nation comes second in this statistic, and Russia is notorious for abusing their power. Yet they still lag behind the United States. To see the list of countries click here.

The American Way: Sooner or later everyone goes in front of a judge
The U.S. Justice System in 2020 controls close to 7 million people in the country: 3.6 million on probation, 840,000 on parole, and 2.3 million in correctional facilities. 113 million adults have a relative that has been in prison or in jail, that is 1/3 of this country.
Good luck if you are an African American
African Americans make up 13% of the population in the United States, but 40% of all the inmates among all correctional facilities in the country.
If you are a black American, you are six times more likely to go jail or prison than other races.
You are punished for defending yourself
Although you are legally entitled to a fair trial, the last thing the government wants to do is go to trial. Prosecutors will force you to plead guilty or threaten to punish you more severely if you choose to go to trial. That is why only 2% of cases go to trial, people are too scared to defend themselves for fear of the vindictive nature of our system.
